While I was mindlessly doing Barrows the other day I noticed people bouncing around a lot and doing the Brothers in different orders. I always figured the way I do it makes the most sense.. but I’ve been wrong before. I do Dharok -> Karil -> Ahrim -> Guthan -> Torag-> Verac. The massive range (10 squares vs rcb 7 vs karil 8) is really nice to have and the thing is pretty damn accurate (100 vs rcb 90 and karils 84) with decent damage splats (78 range str vs karils 55 and rcb addy bolts 100/mith 82). It has roughly the same dps as karils, but with a special attack. Also with karils you use 1 bolt per attack which can be costly in the long run, while with msb (e), you don't use arrows nearly as often. It's magic level only on monsters, 70/30 on players. I advise using magic on karil. Iban blast, toss in a dds spec if you can.Rebalancing Blog looks pretty good, but don't neglect the Karil's Crossbow please. Karils Crossbow is a pretty neat weapon that could fit snugly into the range meta. It's slightly better than a magic shortbow with rune arrows, and obtaining it for ironmen isn't too difficult (ammo included, there's an NPC shop). Karil’s will give you the best DPS but it gets pricey since the bolt racks aren’t saved by Ava’s devices. MSB with rune arrows are better than RCB but slightly worse than Karil’s, but rune arrows work with Ava’s. Wait for blowpipe tbh. If you just want to do tasks then msb (i) and rune arrows if possible. I only use prayer on Dharok, Karil, and Ahrim and I kill them in that order at the start. The other three I tank. I take off my plate body and legs when I mage dharok and Karil for higher mage accuracy, then bring a range gear switch for Ahrim. The main use for Karils is Magic Defence and I believe it is the strongest Magic Defence armor without a Melee Attack negative, which is why you might see it used more for Melee than for Ranged. Switching to Void with the same stats has a DPS of 10.0. So you are going to be hitting very slightly higher with void, but you're going to be eating more and get much shorter trips with void. Just eating more alone is going to hit hard on your dps. Karil's Skirt is only useful when you're doing melee and need magic defense. Unlike Blessed D-Hide, or the Armadyl Chainskirt it doesn't have negative offensive melee bonuses. Elite void bottoms sadly do the same job better.
