When I call tech support and the automated system runs a test, it says my speed is 999 but when I run a test at speedtest.att.com, my results are only 133.3 Mbps Download and 394.4 Mbps Upload.The average home user should be fine with 500Mbps down. Depends what you’re going to do with it, would recommend 1Gbps if you’re streaming HD video from a selfhosted media server for example.
