Unlike the original poster, my car's air conditioning system is vintage and very rudimentary. The car is a 1971 Mercedes Benz 280SE, and the A/C is basically an under-dash add-on. The heater is totally separate from the A/C.+1 I know on the newer impreza's it is a nightmare to make to digital climate control work in a car that doesn't have it.
